Life is behind the walls of Tihar jail start at 5:30 in the morning for the headcount. 6.00 am, its time for breakfast, which would not served by any servants, but a meal that has to be collected standing in queue. The breakfast menu consists of 2 slices of bread and a cup of tea.
By 9 AM, they have to be bathed and ready. Lunch which is basically rotis, rice, dal and just one vegetable has to be collected by 9 AM.
At about noon, the inmates are allowed visitors.
Till about 3 PM they are locked in their cells, but they can read or watch the shared television set from inside their cells.
Tea is served at 3 PM, that is basically a cup of tea and 2 biscuits.
By 6 PM dinner has to be collected by all inmates. Them menu is the same as lunch. They are locked up in their cells immediately after dinner.
