Postings to NITR members via database:
  1. Feb 22, 2008
Dear Friends:
A large number of NITR Alumni will be going to Toronto, ON, Canada for OSA(The Orissa Society of The Americas) convention, which some of you might be attending. My request to you all, from Toronto or Ontario, is to get in touch with each other and check the possibility of a get together on 6th July. (OSA convention is between 3rd and 5th July). It will be very desirable to have such a meet at any other facility on 6th AN.I have checked that there are 12 registered members of OSA at Toronto and 30 in Ontario. There probably are many others who have not registered. Please talk to them and see that this get together is possible.
Please respond with your ideas.
Best wishes,
Sandip

PS: Convention is in 2008 and I am sending to all in Canada, in addition to those in Toronto and ON.

Fuji Z5 Camera-MRP Rs.9000 | Offer Price Rs.6999-BUY NOW!!!

ROURKELA: Partha Pratim Tripathy, Debasish Senapati, Vikas Gujral and Ankur Gaur outclassed their from counterparts across the country to win technology venture competition of the Al Gore Sustainable Technology Venture Foundation, USA, held in New Delhi recently.

They are all pre-final engineering students of National Institute of Technology -Rourkela. Next they face global contenders in a competition slated from March 13-15 at Pennsylvania , USA.

They embarked on a model in July last year. Since then six months of hard work and they reaped the rewards - an entry to the global competition with a cash incentive of Rs 1 lakh to work more on it. On their arrival, they said the winning experience was thrilling, adding a very tough competition is in store for them from Korea, China and USA.

Their success is largely attributed to the E-Cell (Entreprenuership Cell) initiative, a brainchild of institute director S K Sarangi, which envisaged to harness latent talents in students to produce future generation of techno-entrepreneurs. They have now started intensive work on available research findings on their project Energy generation from ocean wave using sustainable technolgoy on a smaller scale. They think energy from ocean waves can replace the conventional energy options. Happy at the feat of his students, Sarangi said they won as they succeeded in making others understand what once thought to be a non-feasible option on a smaller scale.

Dear Friends of 1983 batch:
This is your Jubilee year and I am sure you are planning big. What I am requesting you and many of you will realize when you want to communicate fast, is the connectivity will be much much easier if you all register now in the database.
All you need is:
1. A contact address to find who is where geographically, so personal contacts during work related visits will be possible.
2. A phone number to contact to get the pleasure of voice communication(both land and Cell, if available).
3. An working e-mail address to make, one to many communication, possible.
4. As much about you, your family and your academic and professional achievement as you feel comfortable.

If you net work and get everyone now into the dataBase it will be much easier to communicate and organize the Silver Jubilee
Unfortunately only 67 out of 224(157 to go) of your batch are registered.
Can you make a special effort to register all your classmates, in next 2 months? Believe me your job will be much easier if you do.
Best wishes,
Sandip

4. Frivolous Entry in DataBase:
Dear Engineer Rabindranath Mishra:
Thanks to Dr. Patel and the team at Rourkela- the database is being improved everyday. The purpose is to increase connectivity among the Alumni and in emergency to find each other.
Thus the following information are very important:
1. Contact Address
2. Permanent address:
3. A valid phone number
4. An working and valid e-address.

Surprisingly, this is what I found in your database info entry:
1. For Contact address: and Permanent address
Columbus,
Columbus,
Columbus
Columbus
Columbus
2. Permanent address:
Columbus
3. Phone number: none
4. Working and valid e-address: I am testing now.

I have found that you are not alone in doing this and thus trying to find the logic behind such frivolous action. I am sure you are not a fugitive or have some reason to hide? NITR Alumni are proud of their social and professional achievements. If you have a bad time the Net Work is supposed to pitch in, SOON. But we can not find you how can we be of any help?
I will be highly obliged if you kindly respond to this e-mail giving a reason or reasons for such frivolous action. Because such action is negating lot of work by lot of people. We are really pained to find such lack of seriousness from NITR Alumni.
Best wishes,
Sandip
